A good place to check for bad connection is the point where the wire enters the connector. The connector will look perfect and the only way to tell is to pull on the wire and watch the lights. Good luck, electrical problems are a real pain to track down.
Of course you could solve the problem by replacing the wiring harness, but that's expensive and very time consuming.
